Refrigerator linear compressor

Today we will consider the principle of operation of refrigerators with linear compressors. In our article we will talk about how it worksrefrigerator linear compressorwhat it represents and its main varieties.

This equipment is an indispensable part of the refrigeration unit, thanks to it, the efficiency of both chambers increases. The linear view of the equipment is designed to form different pressures of the individual compartments of the refrigerator.

Description of refrigerator linear compressor

When we close the refrigerator door, we hear the characteristic noise that is emitted by its work. Starting to work, the compressor creates a pressure difference inside the chambers. In the process, it cools the compartments of the refrigerator, removing heat by compressing and pumping the refrigerant. It transfers heat from the inner chambers to the outside, thereby cooling them.

The linear type of equipment itself is a small device that works with an internal piston driven by electricity. It is not large and takes up little space. The whole mechanism is well hidden under its box. The design provides for special holes for mounting to the machine body.

What is the linear compressor of the refrigerator for?

A linear type compressor, as we noted earlier, creates a pressure difference inside the refrigerator. Depending on the type of equipment, they are done in several groups:

  • screw type;
  • piston type;
  • rotational;
  • centrifugal;
  • spiral type.

Each type of equipment has both positive and negative sides. But, their purpose is one, to transfer heat from the inner chambers to the outside. It should be noted that the heat transfer from the camera may differ depending on the type of camera. It's no secret that the temperature of the freezer is different from the storage chamber, therefore, inside it the heat transfer is carried out more intensively.

How the linear compressor works in the refrigerator

We examined the operation of the linear model of the surface; now, we will examine in more detail the principle of operation depending on its type. Let's start in order:

  1. Screw type compressor, for the design of this type, a screw part is used that circulates the refrigerant throughout the structure. At the time of operation, the screw contributes to the creation of high pressure inside the system.
  2. Electricity goes to a special rotorconnected with a special connecting rod to the piston. The piston in the process of translational movements creates pressure inside the system, which allows more efficient cooling of the system.
  3. A special rotor is used for rotary operation.which drives an electric motor. When the rotor begins to rotate, the eccentric flows to the inner surface of the cylinder. Where he compresses the refrigerant gas and pushes it through the exhaust valve.
  4. Centrifugal type equipment is a systemoperating on the principle of compression of a gaseous medium using a rotor with a shaft. There are special wheels on the rotor, which are located symmetrically to each other. When the wheels with the blades rotate, the gas begins to move from the center of the wheels to the edge. Then the gas is compressed, acquiring inertia, begins further movement through the system. This process contributes to the operation of the refrigerator and maintaining the optimum temperature.
  5. When working with spiral type equipment, refrigerant compression occurs in the space between two spirals. One of them stands, approaches, and the second revolves around it. It is important to note that the rotation has a non-standard trajectory, when the engine is operating, which drives the movable spiral, it will mix along the walls of the first spiral, sliding along the oil film. The point of contact shifts from the edge of the spiral to the center, which contributes to the absorption of the substance. In the center of the equipment, a high gas pressure is achieved, and then the gas moves along the discharge line throughout the system.

Depending on its type, the operating principles are slightly different, but, despite this, all types of linear compressor are designed for one specific purpose, to regulate the pressure in the refrigerator chambers and maintain the temperature regime.

In addition to the linear view of the compressor, there is also an inverter view, which is also very popular, then we will examine their differences in more detail.

Differences between linear and inverter compressor of the refrigerator

Unlike linear models, the inverter does not heavily load the refrigerator system, it does not need to be switched on each time to maintain the temperature and turn off, it just works stably, functioning smoothly. Such a principle of operation loads the electric network noticeably less and minimizes the percentage of short circuit potential. When you turn on the equipment, the inverter model quickly reaches the desired temperature and maintains it throughout the entire operation time.

It practically does not turn off, but simply reduces the power of the work. It should be noted that the power drops pass gradually and smoothly, without loading the system. As a result of this work, large fluctuations in the temperature of the chambers are not observed. Upset its advantages:

  • due to the fact that you do not need to work at maximum power, the noise level becomes less;
  • the lifetime of such a refrigerator is noticeably longer, due to the fact that there are no periodic switching cycles.

But, it would seem, why refrigerators with an inverter system still have not crowded out models with linear compressors? But not so simple, these models have weak sides:

  • the inverter model is more sensitive to voltage drops;
  • the cost of such models is much higher than that of refrigerators with linear compressors.

Advantages of refrigerators with linear compressor

A refrigerator with linear equipment is more productive; its electromagnetic circuitry can significantly reduce electricity losses during equipment operation.

Important! During the operation of this equipment "direct current" circuits are used, which allows to improve the energy saving class. This equipment has a silent start system, which reduces the noise level and minimizes it. If we compare the indicators for an environmental indicator, then this model is significantly ahead of the inverter model in many indicators. And most importantly, at a price it is noticeably cheaper than its competitor, which is a weighty argument in its favor.
