Is it possible to disassemble the laminate and assemble it back

Sometimes it happens that during the repair you can avoid the complete dismantling of individual structures. Is it possible to disassemble the laminate and assemble it back? Material can also be dismantled, but not every type of material.

Is it allowed to disassemble the laminate and assemble it back

First you need to determine whether it is worth disassembling the coating. If you need to fix a minor defect, you can not carry out a complete dismantle. However, if it was decided to disassemble the laminate, make sure that the adhesive method of joining was not used to connect the boards - such material cannot be disassembled without damage.

If the type of joints does not imply the use of glue, and the boards are connected by a lock, the coating can be dismantled for repair or subsequent laying in another place.

ATTENTION! If you used glue when laying, then it will not work to redo it again without damage. In this case, it is better not to start dismantling.

What threatens the reuse of the laminate

Can I laminate the laminate a second time? Good material can withstand several installation cycles, but over time, its condition deteriorates. A product of a higher class can be shifted more times without fear of damaging it.

To make sure that the laminate does not deteriorate after repeated shifting, you need to know the level of its strength. Experienced experts recommend choosing a coating of strength class 32 and higher.

How to shift a laminate if it was not mounted correctly

Can laminate be reused? Sure you may. After making sure that no glue is used to connect the boards, you should arm yourself with tools. It should be used:

  • Hammer in order to knock out hard-to-remove boards;
  • A bracket for working in hard-to-reach areas;
  • Screwdriver for removing baseboards, if necessary, complete dismantling of the coating;
  • Chisel, in order to raise the dies.

Dismantling starts from the far wall of the room and ends at the entrance. Usually, if the coating is damaged, it is necessary to replace one or two dies, however, if you need to completely remove the material, you must first remove the skirting board, and then proceed to dismantle the coating itself. Pry off the first die and carefully lift it with a chisel. The boards should come apart. For complete dismantling, repeat the operation until the work is completed.

Replacing several boards will cost much cheaper than replacing it completely, so the issue of relocating the flooring is quite relevant.
