How to wipe felt-tip pen from linoleum

The interior consists not only of details, but also of clean, well-groomed surfaces. Therefore, even the smallest error can sometimes erase the overall impression. Quite expectedly, drawings, dashes and spots on the surfaces appear if there is a small child in the house. Do not be very upset if the stain is formed by a felt-tip pen. Knowing the simplest ways to remove it from different surfaces, you can always keep your house clean.

Household chemicals

You can purchase a special product in the household chemistry department that allows you to remove the felt-tip pen from almost any surface. The tool can be made in the form of a paste, a special pen, liquid. The problem is that such liquids are not always worth buying if the surface is small. It is also worth considering the type of material itself where the stain appeared.

If the plot is small, then you can try to remove the picture with lemon juice. Just take advantage of the freshly squeezed lemon juice, and not the chemical essence. So, there is a guarantee that there is nothing but lemon juice in this liquid. Wipe linoleum is quick, and then the spot should be treated with a damp cloth.

REFERENCE! Linoleum is a synthetic material. Therefore, the lines from the felt-tip pen can be wiped with alcohol (medical), as well as toothpaste (without colored pigment), try using a special nail polish remover.

One of the most unusual remedies, but which also works effectively, is hair spray. It requires a quick spray, after which it is necessary to wipe the place with a solution of warm water and soap. Wipe a place on the floor is an ordinary rag. Due to this, the remnants of the marker are removed.

In some cases, they try to erase the stains with a special fluid that wipes the marker off the board. But do not expect that it will always cope with the drawing from the felt-tip pen. The fact is that such a tool is designed for plastic, and linoleum, although it is often a synthetic material (although there are natural analogues), has a slightly different structure.

Sometimes, alcohol or cologne helps a lot. But it is worth considering that they will leave a stain in the form of a liquid colored puddle, which must be removed with an absorbent rag.

Also in the household departments you can buy a special sponge - an eraser, which will help to erase stains from the felt-tip pen from many surfaces, in some cases, it allows you to remove stains from the floor.

How to remove the old stain?

Often, it happens, it is not always possible to detect a pattern immediately after using a felt-tip pen. And, if it is left in an inconspicuous place on the floor, and even for a long time, then it is possible to solve the problem, but not in the same way as in the case of a fresh drawing.

First of all, you need to understand what type of felt-tip pen. If water-based, then it is easier to retire, even if the mark is set a long time ago. And if the felt-tip pen has a stronger composition, it is recommended to try to wipe it with:

  • hydrogen peroxide 3%;
  • gasoline;
  • white spirit.

But it should be remembered that you need to wipe the stain from the felt-tip pen pointwise, and immediately after exposure to these liquids, take a rag with soapy water to remove the remnants of the product and the stain itself.

IMPORTANT! If linoleum is made on the basis of natural materials, then you can clean it faster, without fear that the funds will damage the surface, affect the color. Synthetic material requires faster and more delicate cleaning, the obligatory complete leaching of substances for cleaning after their use.

Natural linoleum can be rubbed more intensively, knowing that it does not form creases, spots.

In any case, it is worth preparing for the fact that wiping with a cleaning agent is worth several times with an interval for drying. The stain will fade. If linoleum is expensive, relatively new, it is recommended to try the product in a small inconspicuous area and check the reaction of the surface.
